The voice on the phone stabbed into her ear: “I need it now! Right now! Do your job! Now!” The voice was cutting into her ear. Going for her throat. Grabbing her by the hair. She was about to blow her top. No matter what it did to her career, she would not allow this… “Stop!”, she told herself,”Don’t self-destruct.” She had remembered her escape hatch.
She went to her favorite fashion designer’s website who always had new pictures up. It was like jumping out of the plane – of course with a parachute on her back – and slowly floating towards the ground. She could see the meadows from above. And then she had arrived: in the other world. She looked around. And was amazed.
The Woman stood strong. Nobody would ever dare to shout at her.
Visual Short Stories: Day Dreams
The tall woman stood on a rock, surrounded by gigantic trees that seemed to grow until they touched the sky. The woman stood strong. Nobody would ever dare to shout at her on the phone, cut into her hearing with knife-like voices. The woman stretched her limbs. She was going to fly. A magical creature.
Then she saw her walking an ocean shore. The water extended as far as the eye could see. A horse came galloping on the sandy beach. There were a group of blankets spread out, and excellent food was prepared under colorful umbrellas. Wine bottles were waiting to be decanted into slender glasses.
Then she remembered her escape hatch. And she escaped.
The woman’s eyes glistened in the sun. Her skin was blooming like fruit and flowers in spring. The atmosphere of this world took her in. She felt ignited.
She dropped back into reality with newfound energy. She got back to that angry caller and instead of fighting her she had a conversation. Not everybody had an escape hatch like her to resplenish with energy. Her professional calm impressed the other side, and instead of war there was a contract.
