Fashion photography mostly takes place in bars, chic interiors, or deserted industrial locations. I just recently shot a jewelry campaign in a native California forest. The light as it filters through the leaves makes you feel weightless, floating, as if underwater. At the same time you take in deep breaths of wonderful air.
This is one shot that I took after the fashion shoot was completed and the hair, makeup and models had returned to the city. I had the forest alone to myself and I stayed on until sunset, exploring the spaces of the wild landscape. The forests are a natural habitat of fantastic ideas and fantasies, and I like to go there and let them come at me.
