It never rains in California. It is always warm and sunny. Until it rains. Those rains in Hollywood movies? As if a wall of water was coming down. That’s how it rains in California when it rains.
Does it ever get cold in California? Yes, it does. But we are in California, and it doesn’t get cold. People living here subscribe to these cliches so much that they still go out in shorts and sandals when it is freezing cold out there. They just don’t notice it, because it simply can’t be. It’s not in the California weather coding.
As a photographer you have to go around cliches. While models can be tough and you can photograph swimsuits in December, when a cold wind is blowing from the Pacific Ocean, it’s better to shoot it in June, like in this picture. A cold wind was blowing from the Pacific Ocean, too, but the sun was strong. Saves me to edit goose bumps in post.
